How do you feel when crises and conflicts happen?

Donna

When crises or conflicts happen, I try to remember to listen.  Even if I don't really understand the other's point of view, I try to listen to their side of the story and accept that it is true for them.  I also try to watch my reactions – am I breathing too fast?  Is my heart beating hard?  These are signs that I am either angry or scared, and it's not a good time to be in an argument when I am feeling like that.  If I remember, I might say that I need some time to think and will get back to them, when I am feeling more calm.
